When you arrive in Mitaka, you must complete Alien Registration and National Health Insurance registration within 14 days. It is best to get this over with as early as you can out of convenience. Also, you will need a Certificate of Alien Registration in order to most cellphones and open bank accounts.
To apply for Alien Regisration and National Health Insurance, go to the Mitaka Civic Office.
